Uwem Udoma

Uwemedimo Udoma is the Head of Regulatory Affairs (West Africa) for GSK Nigeria since December 2011.

In his role, he ensures the appropriate registration, licensing, marketing and legal compliance of pharmaceutical and medical products, in order to control the safety and efficacy of products.

Prior to GSK, he worked as Chief Regulatory Officer in the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Nigeria, where he functioned as Head of Clinical Trials Unit and Acting Head, Regulatory Affairs Division. Uwem has worked as quality analyst on drugs/vaccines and conducted several GMP inspections to Asia, Europe and the USA.

Uwem holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Benin, Nigeria, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He has attended trainings on Biostatistics for Clinical Research & Drug Development, London, and Health Research Ethics at the Institute of Endemic Studies, University of Khartoum, Sudan.
